Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0

The new WCAG 2.0 is set to become ‘Recommended’ by the end of the year. So its worth taking a look at the details to see how they could impact on your web development projects. Having glanced a the checkpoints comparison table at http://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG20/from10/comparison/ it immediately shows how much more detail has gone into the area of ALT text for images and descriptions of audio and video content.

Another thing I noticed was the use of Contrast Ratios when describing the difference between foreground and background, or the background of your website and the text displayed on it.

It also talks about consistant navigational elements which again is something that any web designer should be doing. Infact most of the detailed changes cover things that Web Designers should be doing anyway.
